If you are like us, you try to do the right thing. We learned as kids to turn the lights off when we left a room, or to not leave the water running while we brushed our teeth. Pretty common sense stuff, right? That was more years ago than we are willing to admit — but even then, there was environmental concern. Even if our dads were really more concerned with the electric or water bill.
Six years ago, on Earth Day 2020 — the 50th anniversary of that civic landmark — we launched Greenation.eco with a simple belief: You have the power to change the world. We borrowed that line from earthday.org, and we meant every word of it.
We still do.
So why are we back?
Because the work isn't finished. Not even close. Global temperatures keep climbing. Arctic ice keeps retreating. The news cycle keeps spinning — and it can be exhausting to keep up, let alone act. We get it.
But we also never stopped believing that awareness leads to action, and action leads to change. That's the whole reason Greenation exists.
Over the last couple of weeks, we've been quietly rebuilding this site from the ground up. New architecture, new data pipelines, new tools — all designed to make it easier for you to stay informed and stay motivated. Here's a taste of what's new:
- Live Environmental Data Widgets — real-time atmospheric CO₂, Arctic ice extent, global temperature anomaly, and renewables share, updated monthly with historical trend charts.
- Curated News — daily updates from trusted sources, summarized and relevance-scored, so the most important stories surface first.
- Good News flagging — because the wins matter too. Conservation breakthroughs, renewable milestones, species recoveries — we'll make sure they don't get buried.
- Tools — Such as EV & Savings calculators to help you understand the real-world impact and savings of going electric.
- Actions & Resources — practical steps anyone can take, and a curated directory of organizations doing the work.
This is a soft re-launch. There's more coming — and we mean that literally. Tune in on April 22nd for our official Earth Day launch, with additional features, fresh content, and a full look at what Greenation 2.0 is all about.
The clock is still ticking. The science is still clear. And you still have the power.
Will you do your part?
